Blushing Bride

My inspiration behind this week’s post is a gorgeous Lazaro dress I saw last week on Say Yes to the Dress Atlanta, included in the collage below.  The blush ballgown with a sweetheart neckline and beaded flower sash is literally my dream wedding look… and after some thinking, I realized that a blush color palette is definitely what I would do for my own wedding.

Blush is an elegant take on classic pink with a more muted, dusty tone.  It’s naturally found in beautiful flowers like peonies and garden roses, which makes for amazing bouquets and centerpieces.  I love it because it’s so soft and romantic- perfect for a girly girl.  Other shades to incorporate in the palette are ivory, gray, or metallic gold (like those adorable Kate Spade slingbacks!)

With colored gowns becoming less taboo and more mainstream, it’s a great shade for brides who want to break away from the traditional white or ivory look.  In fact, Reese Witherspoon wore it beautifully for her wedding last April. Would you wear a blush dress for your wedding?
